There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘You’re not alone.’-- Brene Brown
Welcome to Turn the Page. My name is Venessa, and I am a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) student at the University of Victoria (UVic). With a foundational training as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) from Humber College, I am dedicated to making a positive impact on mental health and daily lives of people I encounter.
As a lifelong student, I am committed to ongoing professional development and continuing education. I believe that growth and learning are continuous processes that enrich both my personal and professional life. To this end, I prioritize regular self-care and self-growth practices, ensuring that I am always at my best for those I serve.
I am currently engaged in therapy myself, understanding firsthand the value of mental health support and personal development. My journey is one of resilience and dedication, shaped by my own challenges with depression, anxiety and ADHD, along with my experiences as a first-generation Canadian with rich Italian and Serbian heritage. This diverse background has given me a unique perspective and a deep appreciation for the varied experiences of those I work with.
Thank you for visiting my page. I look forward to connecting with you and sharing more about my journey and the services I offer.
